A. G. Howard

A. G. Howard, the pen name of Anita Grace Howard, is an American author of young-adult fantasy. She is best known for the Splintered trilogy, comprising Splintered, Unhinged, and Ensnared, a dark reimagining of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass in which the heroine, Alyssa Gardner, is written as a descendant of Alice Liddell confronting the Wonderland her ancestor left behind. The series has been translated into multiple languages, including Italian. Howard has continued to write Gothic-tinged young-adult fantasy in further series, including RoseBlood, inspired by The Phantom of the Opera, and Haunted Hearts Legacy, extending her interest in reworking classic literary and fairy-tale material into atmospheric, romance-inflected fantasy for teen readers.
