A. J. Dalton

A. J. Dalton was born Adam James Dalton in Croydon, England, in September 1970. Educated at Whitgift School and later at the University of Warwick, where he completed a BA in English and American Literature followed by an MA in English Literature, he spent years teaching English abroad before taking on a managerial post with the British Council in Manchester. He wrote his way into fantasy fiction there, self-publishing the Flesh & Bone trilogy -- Necromancer's Gambit, Necromancer's Betrayal, and Necromancer's Fall -- and later found wider readership with the Chronicles of a Cosmic Warlord series, launched with Empire of the Saviours. His subsequent books include the collections The Book of Angels, The Book of Dragons, and The Book of Witches, alongside published poetry and academic writing on science fiction and fantasy.
