A. J. Hackwith is an American writer of queer speculative fiction based near Portland, Oregon, and an alumna of the Viable Paradise writing workshop. She is best known for the Hell's Library trilogy - The Library of the Unwritten, The Archive of the Forgotten, and The God of Lost Words - about a librarian who manages unfinished and unpublished books in Hell. She has also written the earlier novels A Conspiracy of Whispers and A Treason of Truths, along with short fiction for Uncanny Magazine and various anthologies, and nonfiction on freelancing and web design.
