A. K. Larkwood is a British author of speculative fiction who studied English at St John's College, Cambridge, and lives in Oxford. Before writing full-time she worked in media relations, higher education, and law. Her debut novel, The Unspoken Name (2020), launched the Serpent Gates duology, continued in The Thousand Eyes (2022), and drew praise from fellow fantasist Nicholas Eames. Larkwood was a two-time nominee for the Astounding Award for Best New Writer. Her fiction returns often to loyalty and betrayal, immortal and undying characters, fantasy archaeology, and richly imagined, treacherous settings, blending epic scope with a dry, self-aware sense of humor.
