Aaron Reynolds (born 1970) is an American author of humorous and horror-tinged children's fiction. He grew up moving between Texas, Colorado, Florida, Okinawa, and New Jersey before settling in Chicago, and holds a theatre degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. He is best known for Creepy Carrots!, illustrated by Peter Brown, which received a Caldecott Honor in 2013 and led to further titles in the Creepy Tales! series, including Creepy Crayon! For older middle-grade readers he has also written comic fantasy and adventure series such as Fart Quest and The Incredibly Dead Pets of Rex Dexter, continuing his focus on gross-out humor pitched at young readers.
