Ada Hoffmann

Ada Hoffmann is a Canadian speculative fiction writer, poet, and self-identified autistic author who also works as a cognitive scientist and AI-literacy educator. Her fiction centers on neurodivergent and queer characters navigating oppressive systems, most notably in The Outside, a 2019 space-opera novel featuring an autistic, lesbian protagonist investigating a rogue AI-worshipping cult, which continues in The Fallen and The Infinite. She has also published the short-story collection Monsters in My Mind, the poetry collection Million-Year Elegies, and the novel Ignore All Previous Instructions. Hoffmann's work has earned starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Booklist, and her novels are praised for their unusually deep interiority and neurodiverse representation.
