Aimée Carter

Aimée Carter is an American author of middle-grade and young adult fiction, born in 1986 in Detroit, Michigan, where she still lives. She studied screen arts and cultures at the University of Michigan and began writing through fan fiction before developing original series. Her young-adult debut, The Goddess Test (2011), reimagines the myth of Persephone and Hades and launched a trilogy with accompanying novellas. She is also known for the middle-grade Simon Thorn series, following a boy who discovers he can talk to animals and is drawn into a hidden world of shapeshifters, and for The Blackcoat Rebellion, a dystopian trilogy beginning with Pawn. Her books have been translated into multiple languages and published internationally, including by Bloomsbury and the German house Oetinger.
