Aimée Thurlo

Aimée Thurlo (1951 to 2014) was a Cuban-born American author raised in the United States after emigrating from Havana, who wrote in close partnership with her husband, David Thurlo. Together the pair produced a large body of Southwestern-set fiction blending mystery, suspense, and paranormal romance, most widely known for the Ella Clah series of Navajo-country mysteries, later adapted into a television pilot script credited to the couple alongside writers Lee Goldberg and William Rabkin. Beyond the Clah novels, the Thurlos wrote extensively in paranormal romance, including the Brotherhood of Warriors series blending shapeshifter mythology with a military-unit setting, the vampire-detective Lee Nez books, and the Timeless Love line, consistently drawing on New Mexico settings and Navajo cultural material across genres.
