Aisha Saeed

Aisha Saeed is a Pakistani American author of fiction for children and young adults. Her novels include the middle-grade Amal Unbound, about a Pakistani girl forced into indentured servitude after an act of defiance, and her debut, Written in the Stars, winner of the California Young Reader Medal. Her picture book Bilal Cooks Daal, illustrated by Anoosha Syed, won an Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature, and the essay collection Grounded, co-written with Huda Al-Marashi, Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow, and S. K. Ali, received a Walter Dean Myers Award honor. She co-wrote the YA novel Yes No Maybe So with Becky Albertalli, and has written media tie-in fiction for younger readers, including Wonder Woman's Diana and the Island of No Return and Disney's Aladdin novels.
