Alan Brennert

Alan Brennert (born 1954) is an American novelist, television producer, and screenwriter from Englewood, New Jersey. He built a long career in television before turning primarily to fiction, writing for L.A. Law, whose writing staff he shared in a 1991 Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series, as well as the 1985 revival of The Twilight Zone, Star Trek: Enterprise, and Stargate Atlantis. His short story "Ma Qui" won the 1991 Nebula Award for Best Short Story, and he later found a wide readership with the historical novels Moloka'i and Honolulu, set respectively in a Hawaiian leper colony and among early twentieth-century Korean picture brides. He has also contributed to the shared-world Wild Cards superhero anthology series.
