Alasdair Shaw

Alasdair Shaw is a British science fiction author best known for the Two Democracies series, a set of political and military space-opera novels -- including Liberty, Equality, The Officer, and Fraternity -- that follow the strained relationship between two rival interstellar democracies as they face war, espionage, and internal conflict. The series is structured as three connected trilogies, Revolution, Justice, and Exploration, following different characters across the same setting and conflict rather than one continuous cast. His other novels, such as The Newcomer and Hidden, continue in the same vein of character-driven, politically minded space opera.
