Alex Grecian, born Alexander Douglas Grecian in Kansas in 1969 and educated at the University of Kansas, is an American author of novels, comics, and graphic novels. With artist Riley Rossmo, he created the Image Comics series Proof, named one of the best books of 2009 by NPR, along with the graphic novels Seven Sons and Rasputin. He is best known in prose fiction for the Scotland Yard Murder Squad series, a historical mystery sequence beginning with The Yard (2012) and continuing through The Black Country, The Devil's Workshop, and The Harvest Man; The Yard earned Barry Award and Strand Magazine nominations, and The Black Country was a Dilys Award finalist. He later published the standalone novel Red Rabbit (2023), recognized in the Audie Award for Fantasy category, and followed it with Rose of Jericho (2025). Grecian has won an Inkpot Award and multiple Kansas Notable Book Awards.
