Alex Kingston

Alex Kingston (born 11 March 1963 in Epsom, Surrey) is an English actress best known for playing Dr. Elizabeth Corday on the NBC medical drama ER and River Song in the BBC series Doctor Who, a role that earned her a devoted global following. Drawing on that character, Kingston turned to fiction with The Ruby's Curse, a novel that expands River Song's timeline beyond her television appearances, continuing the archaeologist-adventurer's exploits within the Doctor Who universe. Her other screen credits include Mrs. Bennet in Lost in Austen, Dinah Lance in Arrow, and Sarah Bishop in A Discovery of Witches.
