Alexandra Rowland

Alexandra Rowland is an American fantasy writer who uses they/them pronouns and holds a degree in world literature, mythology, and folklore from Truman State University. Their Tales of the Chants series began with A Conspiracy of Truths (2018) and continued with A Choir of Lies (2019), followed by the standalone A Taste of Gold and Iron (2022) and Running Close to the Wind (2024). Rowland is also known for coining the term "hopepunk," a literary movement celebrating positive aims amid adversity, which the Collins English Dictionary named a word of the year in 2019, and for co-hosting the podcast Be the Serpent, a four-time Hugo Award nominee for Best Fancast.
