Alexis Glynn Latner

Alexis Glynn Latner (born 1957 in Pocatello, Idaho) is an American author, librarian, and creative-writing teacher known for hard science fiction published primarily in Analog, where she debuted in 1990. Her first novel, Hurricane Moon (2007), follows a crew that departs a dying Earth to colonize another world, a story she continued in the self-published Aeon's Legacy sequence, including Downfall Tide and Star Crossing. Her short story "Kindred" won the Gaylactic Spectrum Award for short fiction in 2002. Latner's fiction is grounded in scientifically plausible premises, particularly genetic engineering and the challenges of long-term space colonization, distinguishing her work within the hard-SF tradition.
