Andrea Cremer is an American author of fantasy and romance who now publishes as Andrea Robertson. Before turning to fiction full-time after a riding injury in 2008, she worked as a professor of early modern history, and that historical grounding shows in her signature Nightshade trilogy (Nightshade, Wolfsbane, Bloodrose), which recasts werewolf shapeshifters and secret packs as a story with the texture of historical fiction, alongside the companion Nightshade prequels. She followed with the steampunk-flavored Inventor's Secret series and the epic fantasy Loresmith novels (Forged in Fire and Stars, Cast in Secrets and Shadow), and has written standalone science fiction with Rift and Rise. A New York Times and international bestseller many times over, Cremer's storytelling roots trace back to imaginary worlds she invented as a child in the north woods of Wisconsin and Minnesota.
