Andrew Shvarts

Andrew Shvarts is an author and game designer based in San Jose, California. He holds a BA in English literature and Russian from Vassar College and works as a game designer at Pixelberry Studios, where he has contributed to interactive-fiction mobile titles including Choices and High School Story. As a novelist, he is best known for the young-adult fantasy trilogy Royal Bastards, which follows Tilla, one of a group of illegitimate nobles thrown into a kingdom's civil war after witnessing a murder they were never meant to see, continuing through City of Bastards and War of the Bastards. He later wrote the standalone fantasy It Ends in Fire, centered on an undercover operative infiltrating a prestigious magic academy. Shvarts's fiction favors politically charged fantasy worlds built around court intrigue, secrets, and survival.
