Angus Watson

Angus Watson (born 1972 in Hexham, England) is a British novelist and journalist educated at the University of Bristol. Before turning to fiction, he worked as a freelance journalist for the Telegraph, the Times, and the Financial Times, reporting on adventurous assignments including a search for Bigfoot and dives on WWI shipwrecks. He is best known for the Age of Iron trilogy — Age of Iron, Clash of Iron, and Reign of Iron — an epic fantasy set among warring tribes of Iron Age Britain, which was shortlisted for the David Gemmell Morningstar Award for Best Debut Fantasy Novel. He followed it with the West of West trilogy, a Viking-themed fantasy imagining Norse explorers reaching a fantastical North America. Watson's fiction is known for visceral combat and dark humor.
