Angus Wells

Angus Wells (1943-2006) was a British author from Bromley, Kent, who wrote extensively across fantasy and westerns, often under one of at least nine pseudonyms shared with frequent collaborators including Kenneth Bulmer, Laurence James, Terry Harknett, John Harvey, and Robert Holdstock. Under his own name, he is best known for a run of epic fantasy trilogies: the Book of the Kingdoms sequence, the Godwars trilogy, the Exiles books, and Raven, alongside standalone novels such as Lords of the Sky. His fantasy fiction favored large-scale conflicts between gods, empires, and magic-wielding factions, told across dense, multi-volume series in the tradition of 1980s-90s commercial epic fantasy. Wells's pseudonymous westerns, including the Jubal Cade and Hawk sequences, reflected the same prolific, series-driven approach that defined his fantasy career until his death in 2006.
