Ann Liang is a Chinese-Australian author of young adult and adult fiction, born in Beijing in 2000. She spent her childhood moving between Australia and China before settling in Melbourne, where she studied history and media communications at the University of Melbourne. She debuted in 2022 with If You Could See the Sun, a romance set at an elite Beijing boarding school, followed by novels including This Time It's Real and I Am Not Jessica Chen. Her 2024 adult debut, A Song to Drown Rivers, a story grounded in Chinese history and myth, was selected as a Good Morning America book club pick. Liang has won the Readings Prize for Young Adult Fiction and reached the New York Times bestseller list for young adult hardcover fiction.
