Ann Marston

Ann Marston is a Canadian fantasy novelist from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, best known for The Rune Blades of Celi, a tetralogy following exiled heirs and rune-wielding magic through a Celtic-flavored secondary world in Kingmaker's Sword, Broken Blade, Cloudbearer's Shadow, and King of Shadows. She followed it with the two-book Sword in Exile sequence, The Western King and Sword and Shadow, continuing the same world's history, and later returned to short fiction with the retrospective anthology Casserole Diplomacy and Other Stories. Her work sits within the tradition of Canadian genre fantasy publishing that grew around small presses and magazines such as On Spec, blending swordplay and political intrigue with a strong sense of place.
