Ashley Saunders

Ashley Saunders is an American author of young-adult dystopian fiction, writing together with her twin sister Leslie Saunders. Their debut series, The Rule of One, follows twin sisters hiding their existence in a near-future United States where a strict one-child policy makes twins illegal, across the novels The Rule of One, The Rule of Many and The Rule of All. The sisters also co-wrote Exiles and its sequel Intruders, a related work of speculative fiction. Drawing on their own experience as twins, the Saunders sisters built their fiction around themes of hidden identity, sisterhood and resistance to authoritarian control.
