Ashley Shuttleworth

Ashley Shuttleworth is a Canadian fantasy author based in Ontario, holding a BA (Hons) in English Literature from Trent University. They write queer young-adult fantasy and are best known for the Hollow Star Saga, which follows a teenage changeling drawn into a hidden world of fae courts, old magic, and political intrigue. The series opened with A Dark and Hollow Star (2021) and continued through A Cruel and Fated Light (2022), A Grim and Sunken Vow (2023), and A Wild and Ruined Song (2024), building an ensemble cast spanning multiple queer identities and a found-family core. Shuttleworth's work is noted for weaving Celtic-inflected fae lore with contemporary urban fantasy settings. They use they/them pronouns and live in Canada with their family.
