Ben Peek (born 1976) is an Australian author of speculative fiction from Sydney, holding a PhD in creative writing from the University of New South Wales. His major work is the Children trilogy—The Godless (2014), Leviathan's Blood (2016), and The Eternal Kingdom (2017)—an epic fantasy narrated in part by a dead god's fragmented consciousness, set in a world where deities' remains still shape politics and war. His earlier fiction includes the surreal dystopian novel Black Sheep (2007) and the story collection Dead Americans and Other Stories (2014), alongside the linked novellas Above and Below, set in a fictionalized Sydney under authoritarian rule. Peek has been shortlisted for Australia's Aurealis Award and is among the most Ditmar Award-nominated writers never to win it, with nine nominations across a career blending literary technique with genre world-building.
