Bethany Jacobs

Bethany Jacobs is an American science fiction writer, born in 1982 in Redlands, California. She is best known for The Kindom Trilogy, a space-opera saga of political intrigue, violence, and queer love beginning with These Burning Stars and continuing through On Vicious Worlds and This Brutal Moon. These Burning Stars won the 2024 Philip K. Dick Award and was also a finalist for the Compton Crook Award for best first novel. Jacobs's fiction is known for morally complex characters, intricate power struggles across interstellar empires, and a tightly plotted, character-driven approach to space opera.
