Bill Fawcett, born William B. Fawcett in 1947, is an American writer, editor, and game designer. He took part in early Dungeons & Dragons playtesting and became a partner at Mayfair Games in 1980, where he co-designed the board game Empire Builder, later working on Role Aids publications with Robert Asprin and Lynn Abbey. As a writer, he created the SwordQuest gamebook series and, writing as Quinn Fawcett with Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, a series of historical mystery novels. Fawcett is especially prolific as an anthology editor, co-editing The Fleet series with David Drake, the Bolos and Battlestation anthologies, and collections including Masters of Fantasy and the nonfiction Oval Office Oddities. He married science-fiction writer Jody Lynn Nye in 1987 after meeting at a convention two years earlier.
