Brian James Godawa, born November 10, 1961, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, is an American screenwriter and novelist who trained in illustration at Northern Illinois University before working in film, writing the screenplays for To End All Wars and The Visitation. He is best known in fiction as the author of the Chronicles of the Nephilim, a series of biblical fantasy novels that dramatize Genesis-era stories of the Nephilim giants, the fallen angelic Watchers, and the cosmic conflict between the seed of the serpent and the seed of Eve, beginning with Noah Primeval. He continued the mythology in the sequel Chronicles of the Apocalypse, retelling the Book of Revelation, and released young-adult editions of the Nephilim novels. Outside fiction, he has written on Christian apologetics and worldview criticism of film, and he lives near Los Angeles.
