Bryan Smith

Bryan Smith is an American horror novelist born in 1965, known for visceral, hard-edged horror fiction that combines splatterpunk violence with pulpy, high-concept premises. His breakout novels The Killing Kind and Depraved established a signature style of escalating, transgressive violence set against small-town and rural American backdrops, and he has continued in that vein across series including Drayton Falls and The Unseen. Other notable titles include Soultaker, Queen of Blood, and House of Blood. With dozens of novels published largely through the small-press and independent horror scene, Smith has built a devoted following among readers of extreme horror fiction, and is often mentioned alongside other prominent voices in the splatterpunk revival of the 2000s and 2010s.
