C. J. Archer

C. J. Archer is a USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling Australian author of historical fantasy and historical mystery, writing from Melbourne. Her novels blend Victorian-era settings with romance, magic, and detection, most notably the Glass and Steele series, in which an American watchmaker's apprentice partners with a magician in Gothic London, and the linked Glass Library and After the Rift novels continuing that world. She also created the Ministry of Curiosities series, growing out of the Freak House and Emily Chambers Spirit Medium supernatural mysteries. Archer has worked as a librarian, IT support technician, and technical writer, but has always considered herself a novelist at heart and now writes full-time. She lives in Melbourne with her husband, two children, and a cat.
