Caleb Krisp

Caleb Krisp is the pen name of Stephen M. Giles, an Australian author born around 1972 who lives in Sydney. Writing as Giles, he is known for the gothic children's series Silas and the Winterbottoms and for adult fiction including The Boy at the Keyhole, whose film rights were acquired by New Regency before publication. As Caleb Krisp, he writes the comic gothic middle-grade series Anyone But Ivy Pocket, following a spectacularly self-regarding orphaned maid who stumbles into danger and intrigue, continuing through Somebody Stop Ivy Pocket and Bring Me the Head of Ivy Pocket. Before writing full-time, Giles worked as a film classifier and market researcher. His fiction for younger readers is marked by arch, theatrical narration and a fondness for melodrama played for comic effect.
