Caridad Piñeiro is a Cuban-American author born in Havana who was raised in the New York metropolitan area. A magna cum laude graduate of Villanova University, she earned a law degree from St. John's University and became the first woman partner at a Manhattan intellectual-property firm before establishing herself as a full-time novelist. In 1999 she became one of the first Latina authors published in Kensington's bilingual Encanto line, and she has since written across contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and paranormal fiction, including the vampire series The Calling / The Reborn and the Sin Hunters and Sin novels. A New York Times and USA Today bestseller, she won the 2007 Golden Apple Author of the Year award from Romance Writers of America and has received multiple Cataromance and Golden Leaf honors. She also teaches writing workshops.
