Carol J. Perry

Carol J. Perry is an American author of cozy mysteries published by Kensington Books. She writes the Witch City Mysteries, set in her native Salem, Massachusetts — the real "Witch City" where she was born and which she knows intimately — following a television psychic who investigates crimes with the help of her cat, O'Ryan. Her Haunted Haven Mysteries relocate the formula to a fictional Florida town stitched together from the state's older, tourist-bypassed communities, drawing on Perry's adopted home state; she later added the Wicked Salem Mysteries as a further variation on the Salem setting. Before turning to fiction, Perry spent years as a travel writer for magazines and newspapers, and that eye for place carries through both series' strong sense of setting, gentle supernatural touches, and amateur-sleuth plotting.
