Carole E. Barrowman

Carole E. Barrowman is a Scottish-American writer and academic, born in Glasgow in 1959. She teaches English and directs creative writing at Alverno College in Milwaukee, and has worked as a crime-fiction columnist and reviewer. With her younger brother, the actor John Barrowman, she co-authored his memoirs Anything Goes and I Am What I Am, and the pair went on to write fiction together, beginning with the middle-grade fantasy Hollow Earth, which follows two children with the power to bring art to life as they are pursued for a rare gift. The Barrowmans continued the series and later wrote the young-adult Orion Chronicles, as well as a Torchwood comic strip. Carole has also contributed an essay to the Hugo Award-winning anthology Chicks Dig Time Lords.
