Carrie Ryan

Carrie Ryan is an American author born in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1978. Trained as a lawyer, she left litigation to write full time after the success of her debut novel, The Forest of Hands and Teeth, which launched a young-adult trilogy set in a zombie-ravaged future and was optioned for film; its sequels, The Dead-Tossed Waves and The Dark and Hollow Places, continue the series. With her husband, John Parke Davis, she co-wrote the middle-grade fantasy-adventure series The Map to Everywhere. She has also edited the young-adult anthology Foretold: 14 Tales of Prophecy and Prediction. Her books have been published in more than twenty countries.
