Carter Scholz

Carter Scholz (born 1953) is an American speculative fiction author and composer based in California. His short fiction is collected in The Amount to Carry, and his story "The Ninth Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven and Other Lost Songs" was nominated for both the Hugo and Nebula Awards for Best Novelette. He co-wrote the 1984 novel Palimpsests with Glenn Harcourt and is the sole author of the 2002 novel Radiance. With Jonathan Lethem he co-wrote the story collection Kafka Americana. Beyond prose, Scholz has written for television, co-scripting the 1985 Twilight Zone episode "A Small Talent for War," and continues to work as a composer of music.
