Cassandra Rose Clarke

Cassandra Rose Clarke is an American speculative fiction author born in 1983 in Texas. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of St. Thomas and a master's in creative writing from the University of Texas at Austin, and was selected for the Clarion West Writers Workshop in 2010. She is known for lyrical, worldbuilding-driven science fiction and fantasy, including The Mad Scientist's Daughter, Our Lady of the Ice, and Star's End, as well as the swashbuckling fantasy duology collected as Magic of Blood and Sea (The Assassin's Curse and The Pirate's Wish). Clarke has also written media tie-in fiction set in the Halo universe and contributed to the serialized fantasy project The Witch Who Came in from the Cold. She has been a finalist for the Philip K. Dick Award and a nominee for the YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults list.
