Cat Sparks

Cat Sparks (born 1965) is an Australian science fiction writer, editor and publisher based in Sydney. As manager and editor of Agog! Press, she produced a run of influential Australian speculative-fiction anthologies including Agog! Fantastic Fiction, Agog! Terrific Tales and Agog! Smashing Stories, and later served as fiction editor of Cosmos magazine. Her short fiction has won numerous Ditmar and Aurealis Awards, including the Aurealis Award for Best Science Fiction Short Story for "Hollywood Roadkill" and Best Fantasy Short Story for "Sammarynda Deep," and her collection The Bride Price won a Ditmar Award. Her debut novel, the post-apocalyptic Lotus Blue, was published in 2017. She graduated from the Clarion South workshop and later pursued doctoral study in creative writing at Curtin University.
