Cecilia Dart-Thornton is an Australian author of fantasy fiction, born and raised in Melbourne, Victoria, where she studied sociology at Monash University. She is best known for The Bitterbynde Trilogy (2001-2003), which follows a mute, amnesiac foundling navigating a peril-filled world of Faerie-touched enchantment in search of her identity. She followed it with the four-book Crowthistle Chronicles (2005-2007), an epic fantasy exploring themes of destiny and immortality across generations. Dart-Thornton's fiction draws heavily on Celtic and English folklore, and her short stories have appeared in Australian and international anthologies alongside her novel-length work.
