Charlie Fletcher

Charlie Fletcher is a British author and screenwriter, born in 1960, who studied English literature before working in film editing at the BBC and later earning a Warner Bros. Fellowship in screenwriting at USC, writing screenplays for studios including TriStar, MGM, Paramount, and Warner Bros. He turned to novels with the Stoneheart trilogy (2006-2008), a children's fantasy in which a boy discovers an alternate, statue-haunted version of London, which was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award. Fletcher followed it with adult fantasy in The Oversight trilogy, beginning with the title novel, and the standalone Far Rockaway, which blends fantasy with contemporary medical drama. His later Dragon Shield continues his interest in hidden magical worlds layered beneath ordinary settings. Fletcher lives in Edinburgh with his wife and two children.
