Chris Dolley

Chris Dolley is a British science fiction author born in Bournemouth, Dorset, in 1954. He began publishing genre fiction in the early 2000s and drew notice with his first novel, Resonance, in which an obsessive-compulsive narrator's paranoid conviction that reality itself is unstable turns out to be justified, echoing the reality-bending fiction of Philip K. Dick; he followed it with a second science fiction novel, Shift. Dolley is also known for the Reeves & Worcester Steampunk Mysteries, a long-running series that transplants a Jeeves-and-Wooster-style manservant-and-master pairing into a Victorian world of automata and supernatural crime, including titles such as What Ho Automata and The Unpleasantness at Baskerville Hall. His work moves comfortably between psychological science fiction and comic steampunk pastiche.
