Chris Rylander is an American author of middle-grade fiction, raised in North Dakota, whose debut novel The Fourth Stall (2011), published by Walden Pond Press, won the Golden Kite Award for humor from the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. He has since contributed to the Guys Read short-story anthology series alongside authors such as Jon Scieszka and Gordon Korman, and written the comic adventure series An Epic Series of Failures, which follows a boy nicknamed Greg through The Legend of Greg, The Rise of Greg, and The Curse of Greg. Rylander has also written entries in the collaborative House of Secrets series, including Clash of the Worlds. His fiction is characterized by fast-paced humor and unlikely-hero premises aimed at middle-grade readers.
