Christopher Healy is an American author of children's fiction, born in New York City and now based in New Jersey, where he also teaches writing and language arts. Before turning to fiction, he wrote humor journalism, including the parenting book Pop Culture: The Sane Man's Guide to the Insane World of New Fatherhood, and contributed to the New York Times Book Review, Real Simple, Salon, and the Washington Post. He debuted as a novelist in 2012 with The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom, the first of his Hero's Guide trilogy, a comic fantasy series that reimagines fairy-tale princes as bumbling heroes; the audiobook narrator won an Audie Award for a sequel. He followed it with the middle-grade fantasy trilogy A Perilous Journey of Danger and Mayhem and the standalone novel No One Leaves the Castle (2023).
