Christopher Moore

Christopher Moore (born 1957) is an American novelist known for comic fantasy and horror that pairs everyman protagonists with supernatural or absurd predicaments. Raised in Toledo, Ohio, he studied at Ohio State University and the Brooks Institute of Photography before turning to fiction. Many of his novels share a loose continuity of recurring characters and settings, including his vampire trilogy Bloodsucking Fiends, You Suck, and Bite Me, and standalone novels such as Practical Demonkeeping, Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal, A Dirty Job, and Fool, a comic retelling of King Lear. His fiction is known for irreverent humor built around religious, horror, and literary source material, drawing acknowledged influence from Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, and H. P. Lovecraft. Despite early studio interest in adapting his debut novel, none of his books have yet been made into films.
