Clark Hays

Clark Hays is an American author who co-writes speculative fiction with Kathleen McFall, best known for The Cowboy and the Vampire Collection, a series blending contemporary romance with vampire mythology and Western settings across four books beginning with The Cowboy and the Vampire and continuing through Blood and Whiskey, Rough Trails and Shallow Graves, and The Last Sunset. The pair also co-wrote Bonnie and Clyde: Resurrection Road, a speculative reimagining of the historical outlaws. Hays has described drawing on firsthand research for his fiction, including, by his own account, once being shot while researching a scene. His and McFall's work mixes genre conventions freely, setting supernatural creatures against ranches, small towns, and the American West rather than more conventional gothic backdrops.
