Clayton Emery

Clayton Emery is an American author born in 1953 in Bethesda, Maryland, who has worked as a blacksmith, schoolteacher, carpenter, zookeeper, land surveyor, and volunteer firefighter alongside his writing career. He is best known for tie-in fiction set in the Forgotten Realms, including Sword Play, Dangerous Games, Mortal Consequences, and the Netheril Trilogy entry Star of Cursrah, as well as novels for the Magic: The Gathering line such as Whispering Woods, Shattered Chains, Final Sacrifice, and Hazezon. He also retold English folklore in Tales of Robin Hood and, under the pseudonym Ian Hammell, wrote the Shadow World series. Emery has additionally written screenplays, including the television pilot The Republic, and lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
