Costanza Casati

Costanza Casati was born in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1995 and grew up in Northern Italy, where she studied Ancient Greek and Greek literature before earning a Warwick Writing master's degree in the United Kingdom. She worked as a screenwriter and journalist before her fiction debut. Her first novel, Clytemnestra (2023), a feminist retelling of the Greek myth following its title character from a Spartan childhood through a forced marriage to Agamemnon and eventual vengeance, sold into more than twenty territories, won the Glass Bell Award, and was an Indie Next Pick and a Goodreads Choice Award finalist for Best Fantasy. She followed it with Babylonia (2024), tracing the legendary queen Semiramis's rise from humble origins to the Assyrian throne, which became an instant Sunday Times bestseller and won the Wilbur Smith Adventure Prize.
