Daniel Nayeri

Daniel Nayeri is an Iranian-American author born in Iran, who fled the country as a child with his mother and sister and spent three years in refugee camps in Dubai and Rome before the family settled in Edmond, Oklahoma, in 1990. He studied writing at New York University and later worked as a children's book publisher before turning to writing full-time. Nayeri is known to fantasy readers for the Another series, dark fairy-tale retellings including Another Faust, Another Pan, and Another Jekyll, Another Hyde, along with the linked Straw House, Wood House, Brick House, Blow novellas. He later won wide acclaim for the memoir-novel Everything Sad Is Untrue, which received the Michael L. Printz Award, and went on to win a National Book Award for The Teacher of Nomad Land.
