Darren Wearmouth

Darren Wearmouth is a British author of science fiction thrillers, born in Yorkshire, England. He is best known for the alien-invasion series that began as The Critical Series and continued as the Invasion Trilogy (Obliteration, The Brink, Slingshot), depicting a near-future Earth overrun by an extraterrestrial threat. He frequently collaborates with other writers, notably James S. Murray on the Awakened series (Awakened, Don't Move), which blends horror and conspiracy-thriller elements, and with Colin F. Barnes on the Critical Dawn books. His solo Activation series (First Activation, Second Activation, Sixth Cycle) and the Felix North books round out a bibliography focused on fast-moving, high-concept genre fiction. Wearmouth's work is characterized by tight, cinematic pacing suited to the techno-thriller and invasion-fiction traditions he writes in.
