David Bischoff

David Bischoff (1951-2018) was an American science fiction author born in Washington, D.C., who published more than eighty books from the early 1970s until his death in Eugene, Oregon, in 2018. He was especially prolific in novelizations and media tie-ins, writing adaptations of Aliens, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, WarGames, and Star Trek: The Next Generation, alongside original series such as Star Hounds, Dragonstar, and the comic tie-in Aliens Versus Predator. His 1976 novella "Tin Woodman" was a Nebula Award finalist and was later expanded into both a novel and a television episode, while his novel Dragonstar received an AnLab Award nomination. Bischoff also taught creative writing at Seton Hill University. Writing across science fiction, fantasy, and licensed franchise fiction, he built a long, exceptionally productive career spanning dozens of series and standalone titles.
