David Carrico

David Carrico is an American writer, born in 1951, best known for his contributions to Eric Flint's Ring of Fire alternate-history franchise built around the 1632 novels, in which a modern West Virginia town is transported into the middle of the Thirty Years' War. Writing largely within that shared universe -- reflected in his 1632 Fiction and 163x series entries such as 1636: The Devil's Opera, 1636: Music and Murder, and Magdeburg Noir -- Carrico focuses on the social, cultural, and musical upheavals that follow the town's arrival in seventeenth-century Europe. He has also written original series, including the Dragon Wizard books and stories set in the Jao Empire universe, as well as the Fallen World series.
